DIY Peppermint Candy Ornaments

Have some extra space on your Christmas tree this year? Here’s a DIY I absolutely adore! This is such an easy breezy and affordable way to add some holiday spirit in your home and on to your tree. It is a cute way to bring your kids into the mix and help them in making their own ornament!

What You’ll Need:

  • peppermint candies
  • metal cookie cutters
  • non-stick cooking spray
  • parchment paper
  • toothpick or skewer
  • twine or ribbon

Preheat oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spray the inside of each cookie cutter with cooking spray. Lay cookie cutters on baking sheet and fill with a layer of peppermints. Bake for 5-10 minutes. Remove the tray from oven when candies have melted together.

While still warm, lightly coat a toothpick with cooking spray and use it to make a hole in each group of candies. Let candy sit inside cookie cutter until it re-hardens. Once hard, carefully stretch out the cookie cutter, pulling it away from the candy, to pop out your ornament. The candy hardens fast so make sure to poke your holes once they are removed from the oven. Once they are completely harden- tie your twine, ribbon or hooks to the ornament and attach it on to your Christmas tree. Enjoy, as it will surely add a special cheer into your home this Holiday Season.
